1% Murders:The Adair Classroom Mysteries Vol. I

$ 3.99

Description : 1% MURDERS tells its story through the eyes of Ulysses Adair, a freshman at Mangrove High, and his widowed father, Logan Adair, who happens to be his U.S. history teacher. They are transplants living in the predominantly 1% city of Somerset, Florida. Both Adairs live normal lives. They even play guitar at the local coffee shop, Penny University. However, their everyday lives are turned upside down when a wealthy parent is murdered inside their beloved school.

Out of necessity and curiosity, the Adairs become a father and son mystery hunting team. Because of their love of mysteries, they can't resist the temptation to investigate, especially when the murder hits so close to home. They are aided in their investigation by Ulysses' no-nonsense girlfriend, Hannah, and Logan's best friend, Mangrove High's bumbling physical education teacher Bob Nelson. Logan and Ulysses tirelessly follow the clues, avoiding danger at every turn, even as they get dragged into a deep, dark underworld they didn't anticipate.

Who committed the 1% murder? Ulysses' horrid geometry teacher, Mr. O'Leary? Maybe the principal? Or is it someone from their past? Everyone's a suspect! Hopefully, the Adairs can solve this case before it's too late!

As a teacher and father, I wanted my novel, 1% MURDERS: THE ADAIR CLASSROOM MYSTERIES VOL. I, to be a coming of age, whodunit mystery for young adult readers. This is a mystery novel parents can enjoy with their children, a book series that will grow and mature with the audience. I wrote this to appeal to all readers, but particularly fathers and sons, since novels about them are often hard to find.

About : I grew up in Maine but have spent the last five years in Naples Florida with my beautiful wife and two sons. My oldest son attends high school and my youngest son is at the local middle school. We love calling Naples our home and it was the inspiration for Somerset. Growing up in Maine I always read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. I even loved the hard boiled detective series such as Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe. These all inspired me to write 1% Murders. I now read Laurie R King and Rhys Bowen, which pushed me into writing. Mysteries are definitely my love. I seldom read the young adult genre because I could never find a good mystery. When creating 1% Murders, the first volume in the The Adair Classroom Mysteries series, I wanted a book for my sons to read; a whodunit mystery for sons and fathers. This was my inspiration for Logan and Ulysses. All my experience teaching in Maine, New Hampshire, and now Florida inspired me to write all the characters and settings throughout 1% Murders and will continue to inspire as I develop future volumes of The Adair Classroom Mysteries. Please enjoy 1% MURDERS and leave a review. Also add your email address to receive updates and future release dates. The next exciting installment of Logan and Ulysses Adair's story will be A CHRISTMAS BREAK MURDER Vol. II in the ADAIR CLASSROOM MYSTERIES. Series favorites, Hannah and Bob, may even make an appearance. Look out for the future release date in AUTUMN 2019.

About: Steve Catto is an old man, or at least that's what it says on his birth certificate. He was born in Yorkshire, but his parents took him to Australia when he was six years old and he grew up there, sometimes racing cars across the desert.

He was never very good at school, but the one thing he did learn was how to learn, and he started writing programs for the computer at the local university, much to the disdain of his teachers who told him that he would ‘never make a living out of that rubbish'. In his late teens he returned to the UK, and his parents followed him – which wasn't what he wanted because he was hoping to get away from them. His first proper job was in the computer department of an infamous Oxford publishing company, and he subsequently went on to write software for electricity control systems, and simulators for the military. He started to fly gliders and wrote programs to analyse the data from aircraft flight recorders, where he also learned to fly, and crash, lots of other types of aircraft as well – which was the best part of the job. At various times in his career he has also lived and worked in France, Switzerland, and Canada, and he now lives in Scotland. Since appearing in school plays as a child he has performed almost continuously on the amateur stage, and spent a few years scuba diving. These two things have nothing to do with each other. In terms of his pedigree as an author he has written many technical manuals and filled in countless timesheets, so is well versed in the art of conjuring up works of fiction, however he has never written a novel before, especially not one that involves a blonde girl and a man with a bow and arrow, but he did once spend three weeks working in a factory that made handles for buckets.
