Description :

In 1756, Britain and France are on a collision course for control of the North American continent. The eventual result can be described as the first world war, known as the Seven Year's War in Europe and the French and Indian War in the colonies. The Mallory family uproots from eastern Pennsylvania, and moves to the western frontier, where they find themselves in the middle of war. Daniel, Liam, and Liza (the three Mallory siblings) become involved in the conflict in ways that lead to emotional trauma for each. The story focuses on historical events and includes historical characters. Clash of Empires is an exciting look at the developments leading to the events of July 1776, which are chronicled in the sequel as we follow the exploits and fate of the Mallory clan.

Author Details

About : Recently my time for reading has been somewhat curtailed by and replaced with writing my first full length, honest to goodness novel. The working title is Clash of Empires and is a work of historical fiction that takes place in the Colonies during The French-Indian War. It's the story of a frontier family and their acquaintances and the challenges they face during this turbulent period. My Facebook page, Clash of Empires https://www.facebook.com/pages/Clash-of-Empires/1115407281808508 is a good way to keep informed. My Twitter handle is @hooverbkreview.Now as to other facts about me: • Married Daryl in 1977 • Twin sons Jacob and Nathanael born in 1980. • Moved to Salem, Ma in 1984. • Daughter Bethany born in 1988. • Grandson Bodhi and granddaughter Kaedyn born 4 days apart in October 2012. • Granddaughter Eloise born Feb 2016 • Have worked in various multi-platform data centers since 1980. • Avid fan of The Detroit Tigers even while living in the heart of Red Sox Nation. • Player of many sports as a young man, most notably softball and basketball. • Due to aging joints am now a golfer – with my regular golf buddies have formed a group we call The Hoovers as in the vacuum cleaner and thus our motto is ‘We Can't Suck Enough' • The name Ocho Seis or just Ocho is the result of the best round of golf I have played. Shot an 86 a few years back and adopted that as my golfing alter ego. Note-I am aware that 86 in Spanish is Ochenta y seis but Ocho Seis has a better ring to it. Thus you will find Ocho in many of the stories I write. • Drinker of only good coffee – fresh roasted/freshly ground from my friends at Thanksgiving Coffee, though I can take Dunkin Donuts coffee if I get it with a shot of espresso to give it some oomph. • Drinker of only fine ales, stouts and porters. American industrial beers like Budweiser, Coors and Miller are an anathema to my sensitive palette. • A cynic of the American political system. In the words of singer-songwriter Shawn Phillips ‘The country isn't run by the statesman now, but by the gentry.' • Here's the link to my musings and stories http://mystoriesandsuch.wordpress.com/

About: David Myles Robinson has always had a passion for writing. During the late 1960's and early 1970's, while in college, Robinson worked as a free-lance writer for several magazines and was a staff writer for a weekly minority newspaper in Pasadena, California, called The Pasadena Eagle. However, as he himself admits, upon graduating from San Francisco State University, he decided against the ‘starving writer' route and went to law school, at the University of San Francisco School of Law. It was there that he met his wife, Marcia Waldorf. After graduating from law school in 1975, the two moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and began practicing law. Robinson became a trial lawyer, specializing in personal injury and workers' compensation law. Waldorf eventually became a District Court and ultimately a Circuit Court judge. Upon retiring in 2010, Robinson completed his first novel, Unplayable Lie, which was published by BluewaterPress LLC, in 2010. He has since published four more novels, three of which are legal thrillers set in Honolulu: Tropical Lies, Tropical Judgments, Tropical Doubts, and Tropical Deception. His other two novels are The Pinochet Plot and Son of Saigon. Robinson has also published a book of short travel stories, Conga Line on the Amazon. Robinson and Waldorf divided their time between Honolulu and their second home in Taos, NM for seven years before finally deciding to see what it's like to be full-time mainlanders again. They now live in Taos, where Robinson can pursue his non-writing passions of golf, ski, and travel.
