VD: Vintage Death

$ 18.95

Description : Detective David Knight lives in Birchwood, California. It is a small town in The Fiasco Valley of Elviño County, which is world famous for the wine it produces. The town seems idyllic until young, healthy, male, harvest workers start turning up dead. While trying to solve the crimes, David meets a beautiful Mexican woman and falls in love. Follow David as he does detective work in order to catch the killer, or killers, and solve the rash of murders. Keep following David as he runs from the drug cartels that have started their own country and as he escapes monumentally mad Martians. David's political views and psychological problems are often put on display and the results are rather amusing. It's a hilarious and informative look at life in a dull town in a wealthy valley that is beset by murders . . . or is it? Since this book doesn't really fall into an established genre, the author came up with a new one. VD is a political sarcastic comedy, and so falls into the new "Polisarcasmedy" (poly sarkas medy) genre. It could become a huge, popular genre if our politicians don't improve.

Author Details

About : Geo Gosling was born in 1970 in Deer Park, CA which is very near the world famous Napa Valley. He attended the University of California, at Davis and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fermentation Science. His first job out of school was in the laboratory of Grgich Hills Cellars in Rutherford, CA. After one harvest there, he became the Cellar Master/Assistant Winemaker at Flora Springs Wine Co. While attending UC Davis he became an avid bicycle rider. He continued riding bicycles after graduating but also started racing them. One fine day after work, Geo went on a bicycle ride. On the way home, just as it was getting dark, Geo tested a law of physics. The law which states that two pieces of matter cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Geo and his bicycle was one piece of matter, the other piece was a pick-up truck. Geo proved, without a doubt that the law is, in fact, a law which cannot be broken. He received a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), plus a lot of broken bones. His bicycle helmet saved his life, there is no doubt. As it was, he was in the hospital for 14 weeks. That's 14 weeks of really bad food. After he was released from the hospital, he wrote a book about all of the trials and tribulations he has to endure as a result of having an injured brain. He then wrote another book on the continuing trials and tribulations of living with an injured brain. Those two books are: "TBI Hell" followed by "TBI Purgatory." He has now written a novel. It is the first book in the new "Polisarcasmedy" (poly sarkas medy) genre. That is POLItical SARCAStic coMEDY. The author made up that genre because his novel didn't fit into any established genre and he was becoming really annoyed when asked what genre his book was in. It is kind of a spoof on books in general and does not follow any established "rules" of writing.

Steve Catto
About: Steve Catto is an old man, or at least that's what it says on his birth certificate. He was born in Yorkshire, but his parents took him to Australia when he was six years old and he grew up there, sometimes racing cars across the desert.

He was never very good at school, but the one thing he did learn was how to learn, and he started writing programs for the computer at the local university, much to the disdain of his teachers who told him that he would ‘never make a living out of that rubbish'. In his late teens he returned to the UK, and his parents followed him – which wasn't what he wanted because he was hoping to get away from them. His first proper job was in the computer department of an infamous Oxford publishing company, and he subsequently went on to write software for electricity control systems, and simulators for the military. He started to fly gliders and wrote programs to analyse the data from aircraft flight recorders, where he also learned to fly, and crash, lots of other types of aircraft as well – which was the best part of the job. At various times in his career he has also lived and worked in France, Switzerland, and Canada, and he now lives in Scotland. Since appearing in school plays as a child he has performed almost continuously on the amateur stage, and spent a few years scuba diving. These two things have nothing to do with each other. In terms of his pedigree as an author he has written many technical manuals and filled in countless timesheets, so is well versed in the art of conjuring up works of fiction, however he has never written a novel before, especially not one that involves a blonde girl and a man with a bow and arrow, but he did once spend three weeks working in a factory that made handles for buckets.
