Escape From Nuur

Description : One year ago the Grays abducted over half a million humans, taking them to their home planet Nuur to be used as lab rats. The experiments failed. The human DNA failed to yield the superior hybrid race the Grays planned to create and repopulate their planet. Humans were no longer needed. Abandoned, they await their fate.

Earth, led by President Barbara Unger, has joined forces with the Galactic Alliance, focusing all efforts toward rescuing the human hostages.

On Nuur as Rosa De Angelo launches a possible escape route the Ja, a species from a nearby planet, curtail her efforts with a warning. The Ja claim Nuurians, the original inhabitants of Nuur, have been in hiding for over a century.

The Nuurians avoided the scientific experiment that mutated the Grays and have now emerged from their asylum to reclaim their planet. The Nuurians plan the genocidal annihilation of all Gray and foreign inhabitants to return Nuur to the magnificent planet it once was.

Unable to contact Earth and with civil war upon them, escape is impossible. Rosa must prepare her people to fight for survival. Will rescue come in time?

Seemingly facing a common enemy, will the humans take a stand and fight alongside the Grays, their captors? Or should they attempt to befriend the Nuurians and perhaps win their freedom? Who is the true enemy? Rosa suspects there is a third more devious enemy is at work.

Can Rosa uncover a clandestine plot in time to spare millions of human and alien lives?

How Hard Would You Fight For Freedom?

Author Details

About : Kathy Porter grew up in Endicott, New York, the birthplace of IBM and only a short distance from where one of her favorite TV series creators, Rod Serling, was raised.

Kathy's lifelong interest in science fiction ignited when her father, a science teacher, showed her craters on the moon and taught her about the constellations. She grew up watching science fiction movies and TV shows. Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles was her first delve into a science fiction novel, and she has been hooked ever since.

“I think I was born telling stories” Kathy explained during a recent interview. “As the second to the oldest of seven children, the girls all slept in one bedroom. I loved making up bedtime stories with an eerie edge to frighten my sisters: tales about fairies, leprechauns, and aliens.”

In September of 1961, reports of Barney and Betty Hill's alien abduction claims took the media by storm. Kathy has been fascinated by their story of science fiction turned reality and “are we alone?”

The concept of the Gray Guardians Series initially came to me in a dream that lingered in my mind for hours. Finally, I told my husband about it over coffee and explained to him that if it were a book, I would love to read it. He said, ‘If you want to read it, you have to write it.' With his encouragement and support, Earth's Ultimate Conflict came to fruition. That's how the Gray Guardians Series began.”

Science fiction fans of all ages are applauding the appearance of this bold new voice for the genre.

Steve Catto
About: Steve Catto is an old man, or at least that's what it says on his birth certificate. He was born in Yorkshire, but his parents took him to Australia when he was six years old and he grew up there, sometimes racing cars across the desert.

He was never very good at school, but the one thing he did learn was how to learn, and he started writing programs for the computer at the local university, much to the disdain of his teachers who told him that he would ‘never make a living out of that rubbish'. In his late teens he returned to the UK, and his parents followed him – which wasn't what he wanted because he was hoping to get away from them. His first proper job was in the computer department of an infamous Oxford publishing company, and he subsequently went on to write software for electricity control systems, and simulators for the military. He started to fly gliders and wrote programs to analyse the data from aircraft flight recorders, where he also learned to fly, and crash, lots of other types of aircraft as well – which was the best part of the job. At various times in his career he has also lived and worked in France, Switzerland, and Canada, and he now lives in Scotland. Since appearing in school plays as a child he has performed almost continuously on the amateur stage, and spent a few years scuba diving. These two things have nothing to do with each other. In terms of his pedigree as an author he has written many technical manuals and filled in countless timesheets, so is well versed in the art of conjuring up works of fiction, however he has never written a novel before, especially not one that involves a blonde girl and a man with a bow and arrow, but he did once spend three weeks working in a factory that made handles for buckets.
